Book Blitz & Giveaway: Hart of Mine [Cale & Mickey 04] by Annie Arcane!

God, this woman drives me insane.

In all of the good, most of the bad, and some of the ugliest ways imaginable. But it doesn’t matter because she’s mine. My little sadist. My crazy girl. My beautiful wife.

And you don’t ever f*ck with what’s mine.

Warning: Strong language, mature content, drama, and angst included. Shirt sold separately.

This novella is an adult contemporary romance featuring a disabled hero who (still) happens to be a rich and sexy alpha male with a potty mouth.

Author bio:

Romance with wounded heroes, disabled characters, alpha males, and angst.

Annie doesn’t like long walks on the beach, getting dolled up, or HEA endings with a boringly perfect hero. She’d much rather be rock climbing, shooting guns, or ending on cliffhangers with a deliciously imperfect hero. And hugs. She likes hugs.

She also has a B.Sc. in Biology and feels kinda sorta weird referring to herself in 3rd person. Just saying.

Release Blitz: Pure Hearts by Jeannine Allison!

She gave me her kidney. I gave her my heart...

Nicholas Blake learned a long time ago that nobody does anything for free. He’s felt the pain of lies and manipulations enough times to know that people only look out for themselves, and that all good deeds come with a price. So when he wakes up from a near deadly car accident and finds out a stranger is offering to donate her kidney, he’s immediately suspicious of her intentions.

What he doesn’t expect is Iris Chamberlain, a beautiful woman with a big smile and an even bigger heart, claiming she just wants to help. The more time Nick spends with Iris, the more he starts to believe in what he always thought was impossible: a pure heart.

But betrayal leaves a bitter mark. Will Nick be able to let go of his past and let Iris in? And will Iris be able to show him what it truly means to have a pure heart?

She is a big fan of being exactly who you are. Her favorite stories to write are about characters finding and loving who they are.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Roamer [Nomad 03] by Janine Infante Bosco!

Deuce:
The first moment I stared into Ally’s tortured blue eyes, my subconscious knew I’d never escape her. She called to the darkest part of my soul and made it impossible to ignore the strange pull I felt towards her.
Some things are just meant to be.
As long as we were both breathing, my heart would do time with hers. Like the famous outlaw lovers, Bonnie and Clyde, Ally and I committed the perfect crime. I claimed her heart, and she stole mine.
I only meant to save her.
To heal her.
Now, my past threatens to ruin her.
Wanted dead or alive, I’ve got her by my side and together we’ll ride.

Ally:
I thought the world forgot me.
That I had died at fourteen.
But, I never knew life until I knew him.
Rescued and healed, I found love in the face of an outlaw.
Whether he fails or flies, I’ll ride until I die.
I’m his Bonnie and he’s my Clyde.
A love as strong as ours will never die.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Warrior of Fire [Blood and Silver 02] by Shona Husk!

Guest Post!

With Australian winter just around the corner I broke out the knitting needles and made myself a new hoodie cardigan. I don’t knit very often and some of the terminology and fancy stitches meant I ended up looking at knitting videos on line so I could figure out what I needed do. Where would we be without online crafting resources these days?

All that information is at the tips of my fingers (or it is when my internet connection is working). It wasn’t that long ago that I would’ve had to go to the library to get a book in knitting and work it out from photographs. I’m lucky enough to have a good library—which I use on a regular basis when researching as it doesn’t pay to just rely on what is online.

While I’m not the quickest knitter I did manage to finish the cardi in time for the cooler weather (it doesn’t ever get really cold where I live in Perth, Western Australia but we do complain when it gets to 10C/50F because we’re so used to the heat).

There is a scene in Warrior of Fire where the heroine is wearing flip flops and a coat because it’s cold…I see that quite a bit and it always makes me smile as the body loses a lot of heat through the feet and head. But that is how many people dress for winter here.

This is my cardi. Variegated wool is my favorite and my youngest kid picked out the crayon buttons because they were bright and I’m an author J. Every time I’ve worn it gets a lot of comments.

Is theirs a love match?

For Leira Venn, her future is a given foretold by the oracle of the Albah, the ancient people she was born to. Which is why she knows from the moment she meets Dr. Julian Ryder that he is fated to be hers. But nothing else about the prophecy feels right. For the handsome doctor is shrouded by darkness, and intimately involved with a woman who seems intent on killing Leira …

Or a death wish?

Sorrow has shadowed Julian Ryder for as long as he can remember. But from the moment he meets lovely Leira, his heart is filled with hope for the future—a future that is as combustible as the powerful attraction between them. For Leira is marked for death by the very forces who killed his mother. The very darkness that stole everything he held most dear. Only this time, Julian is stronger, more in control of his powers than ever. But will it be enough to save Leira from those who would destroy her?

Release Day Blitz & Giveaway: Wrecked by Jeannine Colette!

Take one sexy bartender. Add a badass cop. A splash of sweet, that's me. One sour, that's him... and serve over ice.

That’s how you’ll get to my current situation.

You know the girl - the one who commands the scene, bottle of liquor in hand, pouring liquid fire into the willing throats of patrons as they let loose at the local bar?

That's me.

I may be known as the town party girl, but in reality I'm this close to my dream of opening my own bar - McConaugheys. Yes, it will be named after the acclaimed actor. What can I say? I’m a sucker for that sexy Texan.

Everything was going as planned until the night I had a few drinks and accepted a ride home from a friend. A misunderstanding leads to an arrest, and now I'm at the mercy of the one man I can’t stand, and trust me, the feeling is definitely mutual.

Adam Reingold is six-feet-tall and built like a stallion -- the man is the epitome of male. He also happens to be the town narc and hates my guts. There’s a story to our past and it's not a pretty one.

So, now, here I am, chained to him for the summer like a hardened criminal, doing whatever he tells me to do. Problem is, I can’t help but look at him when he’s not watching and wonder what our future could be like if things were different.

There are so many reasons why he’s all wrong for me. Even more reasons why I need to stay away from him.

It’s a cocktail of trouble. Best served shaken, not stirred.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Stolen Time by Chloé Duval!

Prologue
Karouac, Brittany
September 4, 1975

It was the most important day of her life.
She’d been waiting and preparing for this day for weeks, and she should have been deliriously happy. She should have been lighthearted and smiling.
But instead, she felt strange and uncomfortable. As though she was forgetting something important. As though she was about to make a mistake.
It’s just apprehension, she told herself. The usual jitters all women feel before they commit for life.
But did all women think of their first love on their wedding day?
Amélie closed her eyes, and Erwan’s beautiful face appeared in her mind. She pictured his irresistible smile, his gray-blue gaze, his unruly hair, always too wild to lie flat. She felt his rough hands on her skin, his lips on hers, as though it were only yesterday that they had lain together on the beach.
She shook her head, willing herself to dismiss the memory. It was foolish to think of him, especially right before her wedding. It had been so long ago . . . four years, almost to the day. He’d obviously forgotten her, moved on with his life. He’d never written to her, never phoned her, never gotten in touch with her. She’d waited weeks, months even, for him to reach out to her, before she’d accepted the truth. It had only been a summer fling. So she’d grieved, but then looked to the future. She’d thrown herself into her studies in fashion-design school to forget. Forget all about him.
And now she was finally happy. She’d finished school and gotten the job of her dreams with a small fashion company that appreciated her style and her slightly extravagant ideas. It was almost more than she’d ever expected. Moreover, she was about to marry a wonderful man, one who loved her more than anyone and whom she loved very much. She knew they’d have a great life together.
So why? Why was she thinking of the past, of a painful, best forgotten period of her life, on the day she was going to marry Paul, for better or for worse?
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her heart, her nerves, her mind. She patted her veil, smoothed a few nonexistent creases in her satin and lace wedding dress. She’d designed it herself, and it was stunning, even if she said so herself. It was the dress of her dreams.
Again, Erwan appeared in her mind’s eye.
“For God’s sake!” she swore, cutting herself off immediately.
Someone knocked on the door and her mother peered in. “Are you ready, sweetheart?” Viviane Lacombe asked, beaming.
Amélie cast a last glance into the mirror, took a deep breath, and nodded. “I am.”
It was no longer time to wonder about the past.
So, she left her home, the home where she grew up, and, lifting the hem of her dress in one hand, her father at her side, her mother in front of her, beaming much more than her daughter was, Amélie slowly walked the short distance to the beautiful church of Karouac, where her parents had been married. Paul was waiting for her there. Her family was waiting for her. The minister, and all their friends, were gathered here today to celebrate her wedding to the love of her life. She couldn’t wait to go in and marry Paul, the man who had always been there for her. Who loved her more than anything else. She couldn’t wait to start her life. The life she had chosen for herself.
Yet before she walked into the church, she couldn’t help stopping to gaze around, searching for a face, a smile. She shook her head and cursed the damn memories trying to spoil the happiest day of her life. She turned back and smiled at her father, took hold of his proffered arm, and waited for her cue.
Hidden in the shade of a porch, unseen, Erwan watched as the love of his life walked into the church on her father’s arm to marry another man.
He’d been too late, and he’d lost her once again—forever.

In a rural French village, a letter is delivered decades late, inspiring a young woman to try to reunite two star-crossed lovers . . .

Middle school teacher by day, romance writer by night, and group knitter on Tuesday evenings, Flavie Richalet leads a fairly uneventful life—until she receives a long delayed letter meant for a total stranger. Postmarked 1971, the yellowed envelope, addressed to an Amélie Lacombe, holds a fervent message of love and a marriage proposal, signed only with the initial E. Given her own fractured family history, Flavie is dreamily determined to learn what became of the couple . . .

Flavie’s inquiries lead her to a French seaside inn—and to E. himself, a true romantic who never forgot the girl who got away so many years ago. But his protective nephew, B&B owner Romaric, isn’t sure that trying to find Amélie after all these years is good for his uncle. At odds with the tall, dark, and impossibly passionate Romaric, Flavie must show him, and perhaps herself, that true love is timeless—and always worth waiting for . . .

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Rise [Coven of Fire 01] by Sierra Cross!

Excerpt!

“Alix.” At the familiar sly, British-accented voice, I turned to see Asher’s classically beautiful gaze trained on me. He wore a crisp linen button down with the sleeves rolled up his lean chiseled arms. Whips of black tattoos peaked out from the edges of his long black leather gloves. “What’s a sexy witch like you doing in Wont’s clothing?”
“Uh, witch?” I could hear the irritation in my own voice, which meant he could too. But hey, I no longer worked at Sanctum. I didn’t have to treat Asher with kid-gloves because he was a regular. Sure, he had diamond-sharp cheekbones, but if magic was some big turn on for him, screw that. “I’m as Wont as Wont gets, remember?”
“Right.” Asher gave an incredulous little laugh. Then, when he saw I wasn’t kidding, I guess, he quirked his eyebrows, perplexed. “Who cast that deception spell on you, I wonder?”
I rolled my eyes. “Listen, it’s been fun exploring your witch fetish.” Not really. “But I’ve got a job interview—for a real job—and I need to get my head in the game.”
“Of course, that explains your kit.” Asher bowed sardonically. “Much more Wontish and respectable than the bar gig, I’m sure.” He gazed down at the stainless steel to-go cup in his hand as if deliberating. Knowing his penchant for whiskey, I wondered if it contained just coffee or something stronger. When he looked up again, his entire tone had shifted. To anger. “Alix, did you not hear a word your friend was trying to tell you?” His normally measured voice clipped, ultra-low. Whoa, what the hell was happening? The urbane man I’d flirted and joked around with so many times at the bar was now glaring daggers at me. “The scales are tipping. Every one of us magicborn must do our part…”
He went on ranting at me, but my brain stuck on two words: us magicborn. Us? So Asher wasn’t a tourist after all? My mind reeled as I ran through all the magicborn beings my mother had told me about, so long ago… There were witches, and guardians, of course. Shifters, who kept to the margins of city life. Fae, who avoided cities altogether. What was Asher?
Other than, spitting mad at me.
“Are you blind?” He motioned to the bustling foot traffic outside. “Or are you really that repressed that you can’t see that our local crowd is increasingly more demon than human?”

I closed the door on magic long ago…the day it made me an orphan.

Ten years ago, the Coven of Fire sacrificed their lives—my mother among them—to hold off an overwhelming demonic force. Now it’s back.

As a poorly-paid bartender, how can any of this be my problem? But Callie, another orphan of that battle, swears I’m the key to reviving the coven. And there’s an incredibly sexy guardian stranded on my couch who’s promising to help me stop the demons and keep the veil between the realms standing.

One problem: I’ve never been able to use magic. Our local bad boy warlock assures me I have the talent, but even if I did, we don’t have enough witches to complete a coven. The only way to survive is to pull together this pack of magicborn misfits, who have more secrets than spells, into a makeshift coven.

Can we—three untrained witches, a sarcastic warlock, and an overly intense guardian—take back the city…before the demongate falls and the forces that killed my mother destroy us too?

Release Day Blitz, Review & Giveaway: Hard Stick [Breakaway 01] by L.P. Dover!

Publication date: 14th June 2017
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis: He carries a big stick. And he’s not afraid to use it.

On the ice, I’m Kellan Carter, powerhouse enforcer for the Charlotte Strikers. Off the ice, I’m just a regular guy. The last thing I want is to get mobbed by a bunch of groupies who are only after me for my fame and money. My ideal woman knows how to enjoy a little good, clean fun—and maybe some not-so-clean fun too. That’s the kind of girl I’d never let go.

When Kristen Robinson, the gorgeous, down-to-earth bartender I’ve been crushing on, agrees to let me take her out, I’m thrilled. We have an amazing night together, culminating in the most electrifying kiss of my life—and that’s it. Kristen tells me we can’t see each other again, but I know that kiss meant as much to her as it did to me. What I don’t know is that Kristen has a dangerous secret. . . .

I’ve proved to Kristen that she can trust me with her body and her heart. But when her past comes back to haunt her, I need to prove that she can trust me with her life. And I might have to get my hands dirty after all.

I've read almost all this author's books, and I've read all her contemporary books and loved them, so I'm always looking forward to a new release from her! I was really looking forward to read this book after I saw the cover and read the synopsis! The cover is hot and the synopsis really intrigued me! I then received an ARC for the Release Day Blitz and I made it my next read as soon as I did! I loved this book! The characters, especially the main female character, intrigued me very early on and the plot also developed at the perfect pace to keep me wanting to read on! The plot also had plenty of romance in it along with hot scenes and some sexual tension too! The plot had a bit of an action and suspense side to it too! The action and suspense did come to a big scene near the end and it did have me desperately flicking through the pages to find out what was going to happen next! There were also some twist and turns, and there was one particular twist that I really didn't see coming! It really shook things up! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Kristen was the main female character, and as I said above, she really intrigued me in this book! She did have a bit of a hard time in this book and she was looking over her shoulder and watching who she got involved with! This did make me feel sorry for her, but Kristen also came a long way in this book and she learned how to kick ass and become more confident and stand up for herself! I also connected with her all the way through this book and I loved the way she was with her love interest! She supported him with his career and she was always there cheering him on! Kellan was the main male character and love interest of Kristen! I loved Kellan a lot in this book! He was seriously hot and was a normal guy that just happened to be dragged into the action/suspense side of this book lol! I also admired him a lot for sticking by Kristen's side and supporting her! He was exactly what she needed and they both gave each other something that they were missing! It was also easy to see how deep Kellan's feelings for Kristen were in this book and he was very, very protective of her, which was understandable! I just loved Kellan and he was definitely book boyfriend material! I wasn't sure of this book was going to be written from both Kristen and Kellan's point of views after I read the synopsis! The synopsis sounded like it was going to be written from Kellan's point of view, but this author's other contemporary books are written from dual point of view, so I 'm really happy that this book was too! It allowed for more things to happen in the plot and it helped me connect more with both characters! I also can't wait to read the next book in this series! I already have an ARC of it, so I'm definitely going to be reading it soon! I know it's going to focus on new characters, but this has me even more excited to read it! I also love the cover for this book! It's seriously hot and definitely suits the book! The model is pretty damn hot too lol! Big thank you to L.P. Dover, Netgalley, and Loveswept for an ARC of Hard Stick!
